Men’s Tennis Sweeps Colorado College in Final Florida Match

ORLANDO, Fla. – Amherst College improved to 6-2 on the year with a 9-0 victory over Colorado College on Saturday in non-conference men's tennis Spring Break action.

Amherst stops a two-game skid and will return home to face #6 Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Friday, March 22 at 3:00 PM in their Northeast opener.

Kevin Ma '21 and William Turchetta '22 got things started with an 8-0 sweep at third doubles, followed quickly by an 8-1 win at second doubles by Zach Bessette '19 and Oliver Kendall '19.

Sean Wei '21 and Jesse Levitin '19 gave Amherst a 3-0 lead when they topped Noah Forman and Danny Holland 8-5 at the top of the doubles ladder.

The momentum continued into singles play, as no Mammoths dropped a set to the Tigers (1-3).

Jon Heidenberg '19 was spotless in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alex Wimer at #6 singles, as was Turchetta, who didn't drop a game at the third spot.

Damien Ruparel '22 defeated Forman 7-5, 6-2 at the top of the lineup and Harris Foulkes '22 topped Holland 6-2, 6-1 one rung down.

Levitin went 6-4, 6-0 at #4 singles and Kendall topped Alex Kley 7-6, 6-2 on the #5 court.
