LEWISTON, Maine - The sixth-seeded Amherst College men's tennis team fell, 5-0 to second-seeded Bowdoin College Saturday evening in a NESCAC Championship Semifinal contest at the Wallach Tennis Courts on the campus of host Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
With the loss, Amherst (15-9) will await an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Bowdoin (15-2) advances to the NESCAC title match against Middlebury College (15-2) Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
- Bowdoin earned all three doubles points as Luke Trinka and Luke Tercek teamed to beat Aaron Revzin '16 and Michael Solimano '16, 8-4 in #1 doubles, while Kyle Wolfe and Jerry Jiang edged Andrew Yaraghi '16 and Anton Zykov '17, 8-6 in #2 doubles.
- Chase Savage and Gil Roddy followed with an 8-6 victory in #3 doubles over Ben Fife '16 and Zach Besstte '19.
- In #3 singles, Wolfe claimed a 6-4, 6-0 win over Solimano, while Jiang secured a narrow, 6-4, 6-3 win over Bessette in #4 singles to seal the match for the Polar Bears leaving four singles matches unfinished.
