WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Amherst College seniors Michael Solimano and Aaron Revzin earned the doubles title to highlight day two action at the 2015 USTA/ITA Regional Championships hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS

  • The duo of Solimano and Revzin notched an 8-4 win over Williams's Jose Raventos and Alex Schidlovsky, and later defeated Bowdoin College's Kyle Wolfe and Jerry Jiang, 8-4, sending the Amherst pair to the final.
  • At the other end of the bracket, the tandem of Ben Fife '16 and Zach Bessette '19 topped Middlebury College's Palmer Campbell and Ari Smolyar (8-5). The tandem then defeated Trinity College's Rex Glickman and Ford Traff (8-3) setting up an all Amherst final.
  • The final saw the Purple & White's senior pairing of Solimano and Revzin claim a 6-1, 6-3 victory to win the doubles title.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Solimano earned the singles championship at the USTA/ITA Regionals in 2014.
  • Amherst's last duo to win the regional doubles title was Fife and Joey Fritz '14 in 2013.
