AMHERST, Mass. – For the sixth-consecutive season, the fourth-ranked Amherst men's tennis team punched its ticket to the national quarterfinals, defeating No. 16 Bowdoin in the regional finals, 5-1.

Downing Bowdoin for the second time this season, the Jeffs extended their match win streak to four. Having now won 21 of its last 22, Amherst carries a 33-3 overall mark into an Elite 8 showdown against sixth-ranked Emory on Saturday, May 19 in Claremont, Calif.

At first doubles, Joey Fritz '14 and Justin Reindel '14 defeated Sam King '14 and Luke Trinka '16, 8-5. Andrew Yaraghi '16 and Aaron Revzin '16 fell to Bowdoin's Kyle Wolstencroft '15 and Noah Bragg '15 in the second slot, 9-7, while Michael Solimano '16 and Chris Dale '14 upended Chase Savage '16 and Chris Lord '14 at third doubles, 8-4.

Making quick work of Hugh Mo '17, Reindel inched Amherst closer to victory with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at sixth singles. Solimano tripped up King at No. 3, 6-4, 6-3, while Anton Zykov '17 earned a 7-5, 6-2 fourth singles decision over Lord.

Fritz trailed Bragg, 6-2, 2-6, 4-5, at the time of the match's completion, while Dale held a 6-3, 4-6, 5-2 edge over Trinka. Wolstencroft was ahead of Yaraghi at fifth singles, 6-3, 5-4.
