Amsbry Scores 471.20 for Third Place on Day Two of NCAA Regionals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Tom Amsbry '22 led the Amherst College men's swimming and diving squad as he posted 471.20 points on the 1-meter board to secure third place at the 2019 NCAA Division III Regional 3 Diving Championships in the Al '51 & Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.

Amsbry concludes his NCAA Regional appearance placing top-three in both diving events over the weekend. Amsbry took second in the 3-meter diving event yesterday with a score of 526.75 before stealing third on the 1-meter board today.

Bennett Fagan '20 rounds out the Mammoths with a fifth place finish on the 1-meter board with a score of 466.75. In yesterday's 3-meter event, Fagan took third place (519.60) after falling a few points behind Amsbry to finalize his regional appearance.

Springfield College made their second appearance in the top-three over the weekend when Connor Pennington notched first with a score of 503.20. Bowdoin's Mitchell Ryan claimed the second spot with a score of 477.80 to edge Amsbry.

The NCAA qualifiers will be announced in the next couple days and the NCAA Championships will commence on March 20 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
