  • Amherst Finishes Ninth in 2018 Learfield Directors’ Cup

    AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College athletic department has completed another outstanding season, finishing 9th in the nation in the final Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, which ranks schools who have reached the national level of competition in each NCAA sport.

    Elijah Spiro ’18 successfully defended his title to repeat as the 50 yard breaststroke individual champion and lead a lights out performance by the Mammoths that saw four swimmers land inside the top-six in the event, as the Amherst College men’s swimming & diving team sit in third place following NESCAC Championship day one action at LeRoy Greason Pool on the campus of Bowdoin College.

  • Season Preview: Experienced and Talented Core Looks to Lead Men's Swim & Dive

    Returning eight All-NESCAC selections from a year ago, the 2017-2018 Amherst College men's swimming & diving team will once again look to vie for a conference crown under the leadership of head coach Nick Nichols who enters his 20th season at the helm of the program. Finishing last winter 6-2 in dual-meet action, the Mammoths aim to build on the successes of last year's squad that secured second overall at the NESCAC Championships and 20th overall at the NCAA Division III Championship.
