SHENANDOAH, Texas – The Amherst College men's swimming & diving team concluded Day Two action of the NCAA Championships at the CISD Natatorium with Thursday evening.
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Entering the 200-yard freestyle relay with a seed time of 1:23.23, Amherst clocked a time of 1:23.49 to claim 21st in the event. Opening the race, Alex Dreisbach '17 posted a time of 20.96, while Charlie Seltzer '19 and Eric Wong '20 logged marks of 21.15 and 20.94, respectively. Jack Koravos '20 anchored the event for Amherst, touching the wall in 20.44.
- The Purple & White had two swimmers qualify for the 100-yard butterfly, with Koravos and Sam Spurrell '18 finishing back-to-back to place 29th and 30th. Koravos finished in 49.71 seconds, while Spurrell clocked a time of 49.78 seconds.
- In the 400-yard medley relay, the quartet of Spurrell, Elijah Spiro '18, Koravos and Dreisbach finished 17th overall with a time of 3:20.92 – a mark just about on par with their seed time of 3:20.41. First off the block, Spurrell logged a time of 50.60, while Spiro and Koravos notched marks of 54.97 and 49.52, respectively. Dreisbach time of 44.83 anchored the race for the Purple & White.
- Amherst continues NCAA Championship competition tomorrow, March 17, with event preliminaries slated to begin at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
