GREENSBORO, N.C – The Amherst College men's swimming & diving team has tallied 29 points and currently sits in 24th place overall following day three action of the four-day NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
After three days in the pool, Amherst currently sits in 24th place in the 52-team field. Denison leads the Championship with 364.5 points.
DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Swimming in the 100-yard backstroke, senior Matt Heise placed 24th overall in the 40-man field with a time of 50.08.
- Seeded first with a prelim time of 1:48.14 in the 200-yard fly, senior captain Jeff Anderson capped off a stellar four-year career in the fly by touching the wall in 1:47.60 to set a new school record and finish as the national runner-up.
- For the second day in a row, Anderson earned All-American laurels in an individual event as his second place finish allowed him to earn the prestigious distinction.
- Amherst enters the fourth and final day of the NCAA Championships tomorrow, Saturday, Mach 19 in Greensboro, N.C.
