Amherst Places 13th at NCAA Division III Championships

SHENANDOAH, Texas – The Amherst College men's swimming & diving team earned a 13th place finish at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.

Amherst finished with 107 points and was the second highest placing NESCAC school. Kenyon won the crown with 468 points, followed by Denison (383), Williams (292), Emory (233) and CMS (204) to round out the top five teams in the field of 54 schools.

Connor Sholtis '15 placed eighth in the 100-yard freestyle on day four with a time of 44.65, while Michael Rochford '15 swam to a time of 1:49.42 to finish 15th in the 200-yard backstroke.

In the 3-meter dive, Asher Lichtig '16 scored 499.35 points to place seventh.

The 400-yard freestyle relay squad of Tyler Hampton '15, Alex Dreisbach '17, Jeff Anderson '16 and Sholtis powered to a time of 3:01.47 and finished 11th overall (third in the consolation finals).
