Busani Xaba has been named the head coach of the Amherst College men’s and women’s squash programs, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Don Faulstick. An England Squash Level 2 coach with 18 years of experience on three continents, Xaba was, most recently, the Director of Squash and Athletics at the University Club of San Francisco and, previously, an assistant coach at Dartmouth College. The appointment is effective August 1.
Peter Robson, Head Coach of Amherst College’s men’s squash team since 1987, and Head Coach of the women’s squash team since 2010, retired from the College on October 30, 2019. During his years with the College, Coach Robson supported Amherst racket athletics in other ways, serving as men’s tennis coach and teaching in the Physical Education Department. As a head coach with one of the longest tenures with the College, his presence on the court will be missed by many.
