Men’s Squash Sweeps Camels, Huskies in Round Robin

AMHERST, Mass.- The Amherst College Mammoths stay perfect following their round robin match on Saturday at Davenport Courts. The Mammoths nabbed 9-0 victories over Connecticut College and Northeastern University.

Seven of the ten matches versus Connecticut College resulted in sweeps for the Mammoths. All ten of the matches versus Northeastern University resulted in sweeps as Amherst dropped just four sets all afternoon.

Against Connecticut College:

Terrence Wang '21 took first singles 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4. David Merkel '19 swept second singles 11-6,11-6, and 11-5. Robert Parker '21 swept third singles 11-3, 11-7, and 11-4. Cameron Bahadori '18 swept fourth singles 11-7,11-3, and 11-6. Pavan Nagaraj '21 won close in fifth singles 11-7, 7-11, 11-5, 5-11, and 12-10.

Reggie Brewster '21 swept sixth singles 12-10, 14-12, and 11-6. Mateen Mills '20 also swept seventh singles 12-10, 14-12, and 11-6. Chris Zimmerman '20 won eighth singles 11-1, 11-13, 11-7, and 11-9.

Arnav Parikh '21 and Lucas Sheiner '20 both swept the final two matches to solidify the Amherst sweep 9-0.     

 

Against Northeastern:


Highlights included Parker winning at third singles 11-3, 11-6, and 11-3.

Mills '20 won seventh singles 11-0, 11-3, and 11-1, and Zimmerman won at number eight singles 11-2, 11-1 and 11-11.

 

The Mammoths will take the rest of the month off and will return to action on January 7th when they host Yale at 11:00 AM.
