HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College men's squash sophomore Harith Khawaja was named Second Team All-NESCAC as announced by the league office Thursday.
In his second season in the Pioneer Valley, Khawaja helped pace Amherst to a 7-13 overall record and a sixth place finish at the NESCAC Championship. Khawaja totaled a 4-9 overall record at the first position, and a 2-4 mark on court two.
Khawaja was 2-2 from the first position during conference championship play, picking up a comeback win over his opponent from Conn. College (9-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-9, 11-9), and then sweeping is Bowdoin College counterpart, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8. During CSA Men's National Team Championship action, Khawaja defeated his MIT foe 3-0, 11-7, 11-5, 11-6 on court one in the consolation semifinals.
This is Khawaja's first All-NESCAC honor of his career.
