No. 23 Men’s Squash Downs No. 19 Western Ontario, 6-3

AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 23 Amherst men's squash team earned a 6-3 victory over No. 19 University of Western Ontario  Friday evening at the Davenport Squash Courts.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Amherst picked up victories from the first three courts as Noah Browne '16 earned a default victory (11-0, 11-0, 11-0) from the No. 1 court, while Cameron Bahadori '18 fell behind 6-11 in the first set, but followed with a string of 11-6, 11-3, 11-8 victories to stake a 3-1 triumph over Stefan Houbtchev.
  • On the third court, first-year David Merkel notched a 3-1 (3-11, 12-10, 11-9, 12-10) win, while Harith Khawaja '19 posted a 3-1 (11-3, 10-12, 11-5, 11-3) victory from the No. 5 position.
  • The Purple & White's final wins came on No. 6 court from Lucas Sheiner '19 who edged Rayaan Kurji, 3-2 (11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11, 11-7), and Peter Woolverton '17 who defeated Skylar Macgowan, 3-1 (8-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-0) from the No. 9 court.
