Jeffs Conclude Season with 6-3 Win Over Hobart

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The No. 24 Amherst College men's squash team defeated No. 22 Hobart College Sunday, 6-3 in the consolation round of the MCSA National Team Championships Summers Cup (C Division), hosted by Wesleyan University.

With the win, the Jeffs conclude the 2014-15 season with a 7-12 record, while Hobart finishes the year at 11-11.

Noah Browne '16 and Jeremy Van '17 each cruised to 3-0 victories on courts No. 1 and 7, respectively. Browne won by scores of 11-7, 11-6 and 13-11, and Van took the victory with scores of 11-5, 19-17 and 11-3.

In the No. 3 position, Cameron Bahadori '18 needed just four sets to get the win (11-8, 14-12, 10-12, 11-3), while Max Kardon '15, Alex Southmayd '15 and Stephen Cacouris '16 claimed 3-1 wins from the bottom of the lineup. Kardon took the No. 6 spot, Southmayd grabbed a victory on the No. 8 court and Cacouris earned a win from the No. 9 position.

Next up for the Jeffs is the CSA National Individuals Championship at Dartmouth College Friday, February 27th through Sunday, March 1st.
