Jeffs Swept by No. 12 Drexel, 9-0

AMHERST, Mass. - The No. 21 Amherst College men's squash team dropped its final match of the Pioneer Valley Invitational Sunday against No. 12 Drexel University, 9-0.

The Jeffs went 2-2 during the three-day tournament and are now 4-4 overall on the year. After starting the season 0-4, the Dragons won all four matches this weekend to improve to 4-4 this season.

Trailing 2-0 on the No. 1 court, Noah Browne '16 took set three, 11-5, but fell 11-7 in the fourth set. Scott DeSantis '15 took an early 2-0 lead from the No. 2 spot with wins of 12-10 and 11-7, however, the senior dropped the next three as he fell short, 3-2.

Michael Groot '17 and Darian Ehsani '17 each won a set from the No. 3 and No. 4 spot, respectively. Groot took the third set, 11-5, while Ehsani claimed the first set, 11-7, but both players fell short, 3-1. 

Browne and DeSantis each went 3-1 during the weekend from the top of the lineup, while Alex Southmayd '15 and Stephen Cacouris '16 posted the same records from the No. 7 and No. 8 spots, respectively.

The Jeffs return to the court Wednesday, Jan. 28 and will host Brown at 6 p.m.
