Amherst Falls to Brown, 7-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 22nd-ranked Amherst men's squash team dropped a 7-2 match to No. 17 Brown on the road Tuesday and are now 4-6 overall on the season.

The Jeffs grabbed two wins from Noah Browne '16 and Max Kardon '15. Browne claimed a 3-1 win from the top spot. With a 2-0 advantage, Blake Reinson '14 pulled off a 12-10 win in game three to force a fourth set. In the final frame, Browne edged out the senior, 16-14, to claim the match.

Kardon earned a 3-0 sweep from the No. 6 position. The junior narrowly defeated Patrick O'Neill '14 in the first and third sets by a score of 12-10 each and claimed an 11-7 win in game two. 

Scott DeSantis '15 fell short of a victory from the No. 2 spot. With wins of 11-4 and 11-8 in games one and two, respectively, the junior dropped three straight to Jack Blasberg '16.

The No. 9 court featured another 3-2 match between Neel Swami '15 of Brown and Amherst's Jacob Pfau '17. The two exchanged matches with Pfau forcing a fifth set with an 11-9 win in game four. However, Swami retaliated with an 11-5 win to claim the match.

The Jeffs return to action on Sunday, Jan. 26 and will host Wesleyan at 11 a.m.
