Lind Named Player of the Week After First Career Postseason Multi-Goal Game

NESCAC RELEASE

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Senior midfielder Dane Lind of the top-ranked Amherst College men's soccer team has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week for the second time in his career after posting a 2G-1A-5P stat line in a two-game span.

Closing out the regular season with an assist on the insurance tally in a 4-0 win over Trinity, the San Juan Capistrano, Calif. native tied his own program single-season assist record (10) that he set last fall before striking in the 30th and 53rd minute three days later to register his first career postseason multi-goal game and lift the Mammoths past Little III rival Wesleyan, 2-0, and into the NESCAC Semifinals for the third time in four years.

His 10 assists so far this fall are a conference-high, while Lind's 24 points on the year ranks second in the NESCAC behind only teammate German Giammattei '22.

Lind and the top-seeded Mammoths (14-0-2) are back in action this Saturday, Nov. 9 when they host sixth-seeded Middlebury (7-2-7) in a NESCAC Championship Semifinal clash at Hitchcock Field. Opening kickoff is slated for 11:00 AM.
