SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - With less than two minutes to play, sophomore Nico Pascual-Leone scored the game-winner to lead the second-ranked Amherst men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Western New England Saturday at Suprenant Field.
With the win, the Jeffs extended their unbeaten streak to 33 games and improved to 11-0-2 on the season, dropping the Golden Bears to 11-4-3 overall.
Pascual-Leone led the team with four shots on goal and was assisted by Christopher Martin '17 on his game-winner at the 88th minute.
A stifling Amherst defense allowed just two shots as they held a decisive 25-2 advantage in shots and 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Thomas Bull '16 recorded one save in net for the Jeffs and Domenick Villano '14 posted three stops for the Golden Bears.
The Jeffs return to the field Wednesday, Oct. 30 for their final regular season game at Trinity. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
