A 2016 graduate of Amherst College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Annino enters his third season on the sidelines as an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse program in 2020.
Annino serves as the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator for the Mammoths. After a trip to the National Championship Game in 2019, Annino was awarded the “Mike Clear Sr. Award” as the Division III Outstanding Assistant Coach of the Year by the IMLCA (Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association). Under Annino’s guidance, the Mammoths’ defense has reduced its Goals Against Average by more than 2 goals per game since 2017, while accumulating an overall record of 33-8.
A cornerstone of the Mammoths' defense as a four-year starter for Amherst, Annino earned New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England praise following his senior season and concluded his playing career with a stat line that included 76 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers.
During his four years as a staple on the Mammoths’ back line, Annino directed an Amherst defense that posted a combined 10.34 goals against average and a 52-23 overall record while appearing in four consecutive NESCAC postseason tournaments, and advanced to the championship contest in 2014 and 2015 including as the top seed in 2015. The team also appeared in three straight NCAA Championship tournament from 2014-2016 and advanced to the national quarterfinals in each of his last two seasons.
Annino joined the Mammoths’ coaching staff following a year as an investment banking analyst in New York, N.Y. at a firm specializing in the financial services sector.
