Dominant Performance at Mustang Classic Earns Wolf NESCAC Player of the Week Honors

NESCAC RELEASE

HADLEY, Mass. – Senior captain and attackman Evan Wolf of the Amherst College men's lacrosse team has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week following a sensational offensive effort during the Mammoths 2-0 weekend at the annual Mustang Classic.

Announced by the league office Monday, this is the first career Player of the Week honor for the 2018 NESCAC Player of the Year.

Wolf was the offensive spark for the Mammoths in a weekend that featured two big wins over top-15 teams, with the Wynnewood, Pa. native totaling 12 points behind 11 goals and one helper.

Kicking off the weekend against No. 14 Franklin and Marshall, Wolf found the back of the net in every quarter to record seven goals, including a man-down score, in the Mammoths' 17-9 victory.

A day later, Wolf continued to shine, potting a game-high four goals and dishing out an assist to lead the charge in an electrifying 17-16 win over RIT. Also picking up two ground balls in the battle, the Mammoths victory marked the Tigers first regular season loss in 30 games.

Amherst returns to the field tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19 when they host Endicott in a non-conference clash. Opening face off is slated for 4:30 p.m.
