Herr Leads Mammoths in Fifth Place Finish at Williams Spring Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Jeffery Herr '20 led the Amherst men's golf team on day two of the Williams Spring Invitational after shooting one over par, finishing with 149 as the Mammoths placed fifth overall at Taconic Golf Club Sunday afternoon.

The Mammoths will host the Little Three Championships on Tuesday, April 23rd to round out their 2018-19 campaign.

The Purple & White shot a combined 303 in both days of competition, finishing with 606 while the Trinity (Conn.) clinched the win after cutting six strokes off their day one score to finish with a total of 572. The hosts, Williams, placed second and were led by Sam Goldenring who shot an impressive five under par on day two.

Herr, who shot a 77 on day one, tied for thirteenth overall while Cameron Clark '20 followed one stroke back (150) after carding a 73 on day one and 77 on the final day. Cole Vissicchio '20 placed third for the Purple & White and tied for 20th overall with a +11 card after combining for 153 on the weekend (75, 78).

Jack Klein '20 tied for 24th shooting 79 and 78 while Jack Burlison '19 and Nicholas Sullivan '20 matched each other at 157 apiece after 36 holes
