WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Cameron Clark '20 led the way for the Amherst men's golf team in their opening round at the Williams Spring Invite Saturday afternoon as the Mammoths sat in fifth place after shooting a combined 303 at the Taconic Golf club.
The Mammoths will kick off the final day of the invitational with a 10:00 AM tee-time. The hosts, Williams, and Trinity (Conn.) currently sit tied for first place after carding a 289 respectively. Ephs golfer Ben Beiers leads the tournament after shooting -3 in the opening 18 rounds.
Clark tied for fifth overall after shooting two over on the day (73) while Cole Vissicchio '20 followed two strokes behind with a 75 mark, tying him for 13th. Jeffery Herr '20 finished third for the Mammoths and tied for 22nd overall on the afternoon after posting a 77 (+6).
Nicholas Sullivan '20 shot seven over on the day (79), tying for 24th while Jack Burlison '19 and Jack Klein '20 rounded out Amherst's performances on the day when they tied for 28th by nabbing scores of 79 (+8).
