Herr Leads Men's Golf to Fifth Place Finish at Bill Deitrick Invite

NEWINGTON, Conn.  – Jeffrey Herr '20 paced the Mammoths and carded a 148 to tie for first overall, as the Amherst College men's golf team opened the 2017-18 season with a fifth place finish at Trinity College's Bill Deitrick Invitational at the Indian Hill Country Club.

TOP-MAMMOTH: Herr (T-1)

Notching scores of 75 and 73, Herr posted a Mammoth-best 148 to finish four over par for the weekend and land in a four way tie for first overall. Cameron Clark '20 cut eight strokes off of his day one score to finish with a two-day mark of 155 (81-73) and tie for 13th overall, while Cole Vissicchio '20 finished tied for 16th after carding a 155 (80-75).

Will Lonnquist '20 recorded scores of 82 and 83 for card a 165 on the weekend, while Sam Procter's '18 167 (81-86) was good for 44th. Jack Klein '20 rounded out Amherst's competing golfers, carding a 168 (82-86).  

Amherst returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 16 when they travel to host Middlebury College for the two-day Duke Nelson Tournament.
