Madeline Tank '15 enters her second season on the sidelines as an assistant coach on the Amherst field hockey team's coaching staff.
A 2015 graduate of Amherst with a B.A. in Psychology, Tank returns to the Pioneer Valley after an illustrious playing career that saw her captain the field hockey and ice hockey teams during her senior seasons. An immediate impact player for the Mammoths, Tank started in 54 of her 57 contest appearances, amassing 42 goals, including 13 game-winners, and dishing out 11 assists for 95 total points (fourth in program history). Leading the team in scoring in her final two seasons, Tank was named to the 2013 All-NESCAC and NFHCA All-Region Second Teams, and to the 2014 All-NESCAC and NFHCA All-Region First Teams as well as an NFHCA Third Team All-American.
Prior to her return to Amherst, Tank taught second and third grade as an assistant teacher at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Ill., and was the head JV and assistant varsity field hockey coach in addition to acting as the head coach of the Winnetka Hockey Club’s Under-8 ice hockey team.
Tank is currently pursuing a Master of the Arts in English at the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English, an intensive summer graduate program, and enjoys writing country music in her free time.
