NFHCA ALL-AMERICA RELEASE
GILBERT, Ariz. – Senior midfielder Elizabeth Turnbull of the Amherst College field hockey team has been named to the Longstreth / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-America Second Team, as announced by the organization Wednesday.
A total of 48 student-athletes representing 33 different schools were selected to the 2017 All-America teams, with the three squads consisting of 28 seniors, 15 juniors, four sophomores and one first-year. Including Turnbull, 10 NESCAC student-athletes landed an All-America nod.

Starting all 16 contests for the Mammoths, the Harding Township, N.J capped off her collegiate career with her fourth consecutive double digit point season en route to posting Amherst-high numbers in goals and points. Ranking 17th in the NESCAC in goals, Turnbull netted eight scores, including three game-winners, and chipped in three assists to total 19 points for the Mammoths. A tri-captain, Turnbull finished 2-for-3 on penalty stroke attempts and put 50% of her 44 shots on frame as a key component of the Amherst attack on penalty corner opportunities.
The Mammoths concluded the 2017 season ranked 18th in the nation with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-5 mark in conference play.
