AMHERST, Mass. – Senior captain Elizabeth Turnbull and junior Kendall Codey of the Amherst College field hockey team have been named First and Second Team All-Conference selections, respectively, as announced recently by the league office.
A midfielder, Turnbull garners a First Team All-NESCAC selection following a sensational senior campaign that saw the Harding Township, N.J. native start all 16 contests for the Mammoths and lead the team in scoring and points. Her fourth consecutive season tallying double digit points, Turnbull secures her first all-league nod after registering eight goals, including three game-winners, and three assists for 19 total points en route to posting a .182 shot percentage.
Codey earns Second Team All-Conference accolades after a terrific junior season in which she led an Amherst backline that notched a 1.48 goals against average. Starting all 16 matchups this fall, the Summit, N.J. native proved to be a force on both sides of the field, logging five goals, including a game-winner, and dishing out five assists for 15 points (third on Amherst) while also making a team-high three defensive saves.
The Mammoths concluded the 2017 season ranked 18th in the country with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-5 mark in conference play.
