AMHERST, Mass. – Senior tailback Hasani Figueroa of the Amherst College football team is set to play in the annual National Bowl presented by SPIRAL / East Preps this Sunday, Dec. 19 at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla.
An annual all-star game showcasing the top-players from non-FBS schools features seniors from around the nation representing NCAA Division II, III and NAIA institutions. Facing off in front of NFL and CFL scouts, 56 players that have competed in the National Bowl since 2015 have seen action with a NFL team.
A native of Bronx, N.Y., Figueroa will be playing on the American team as a running back and kick returner under head coach Brian Ferguson – a coach with the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League.
Named All-NESCAC Second Team Offense after a stellar fall, Figueroa ranked second on the Mammoths in total rushing yards, logging 457 yards on 100 carriers. Part of a potent one-two punch for Amherst, Figueroa averaged 50.8 yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry en route to finding the end zone three times in his senior season.
