Mammoths Placed in Auburn, N.Y. for NCAA Baseball Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division III Baseball Committee has announced the 58 teams that will compete in the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship late last night, and Amherst College will be part of the eight-team regional in Auburn, N.Y., hosted by SUNY Cortland.

Amherst, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) champions, are the #6 seed in the region and will start their double-elimination tournament run against University of Southern Maine on Thursday, May 17th with time still to be determined.

Six teams will compete at three regional sites and eight teams will compete at five regional sites. All regionals will use a double-elimination format. Forty conference champions qualified automatically.

Winners of the eight regional tournaments will qualify for the pool play double-elimination championship at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin, beginning on May 25th.
