AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst baseball team kicked off its season with a 4-2 loss to UMass-Dartmouth at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Saturday.

Alex Hero '14 (New York, N.Y.) and Taiki Kasuga '14 (New York, N.Y.) each finished with two hits and a run scored, with Kasuga notching a pair of doubles. Senior Thomas Wheeler (Minnetonka, Minn.) also had a pair of hits, along with Brendon Hardin '15 (Riverside, Conn.).

Getting a run back in the fourth, the Corsairs tied the game in the fifth before pushing across a score for the third-straight inning to go ahead 3-2 in the sixth. Tacking on an insurance run in the ninth, UMass-Dartmouth moved to 3-0 on the year with a 4-2 victory.
