Gregg DiNardo is entering his fourth year as Associate Director of Athletics following a promotion in July 2017. In his current role, DiNardo serves as Director of Finance and Facilities, Event Operations, and Intramurals. DiNardo is a key member of the Department’s leadership team and has played a significant role in the day to day operations of the Department as well as in the long-term planning and strategy. DiNardo has overseen a variety of capital projects and facility upgrades including renovations to both the baseball and softball fields, a new tennis facility and pavilion, and indoor cage upgrades. In addition, DiNardo is responsible for the oversight of all game management responsibilities, including regular and post-season play.
In September 2013, DiNardo was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics where he began overseeing all aspects of Facilities and Intramurals. Transitioning from student-athlete experience to facilities, DiNardo is responsible for oversight of all turf fields, rink, pool, and tennis facilities and is a member of the National Associate of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and the National Association of Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA).
DiNardo returned to Amherst College in the summer of 2010 where he served as the first Director of Amherst LEADS, a leadership development program for student-athletes. Founded in 2011, Amherst LEADS became a national brand in the NCAA and the premier leadership development program in Division 3.
At the same time, DiNardo joined the coaching staff of Amherst Hockey where he served as an assistant coach from 2010-2016, working in all aspects of hockey operations, including recruiting, video analysis and on-ice coaching. During that time, the Mammoths won the NESCAC Championship in 2012 and 2015 while advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four during both of those seasons.
In 2010, DiNardo embarked on a new career path in Intercollegiate Athletics and began working in Athletics at Harvard University and MIT, where he worked in various capacities.
Following college graduation, DiNardo worked in Credit and Derivative Sales in the Fixed Income division of investment bank BNP Paribas from 2001-2007, where he worked in both the New York and London offices.
DiNardo graduated from Amherst College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson School in 2009, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow. DiNardo currently resides in Deerfield with his wife Allison (Amherst ’04) and his four daughters, Elliana, Evelyn, Serafina and Sienna.
