Amherst College student-athletes are constantly involved and active in the local community.

Athletics Liaisons
are student leaders who work for the Center for Community Engagement to connect teams and coaches with community engagement opportunities. Liaisons help teams develop community engagement ideas and promote the ongoing engagement work of the athletics community.  Most of the varsity and club sports at Amherst also have one student who is selected to serve as the Athletics Team Engagement Leader (ATEL). That student leader works to organize their team's involvement in community engagement efforts.

The Amherst College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee works to promote the importance of participation in various community engagement projects throughout the year and undertakes projects that benefit all members of the community.
