A Message from Director of Athletics Don Faulstick

A Message from Director of Athletics Don Faulstick

I hope you're doing as well as can be expected in these tragic, senseless, and disgusting times for our country and particularly in our Black communities.

The department of athletics condemns racism and we will continue to work to fight against it and foster a community that is anti-racism. We know we can and need to do more. We have heard from many of you who have shared some of the negative experiences you had at Amherst. We're grateful that you reached out and consider your doing so the start of a more meaningful dialogue about anti-Black and other forms of racism at the College that will lead to action on our part. Please don't hesitate to contact any of us in Athletics. We're here to support and to stand in solidarity with all our black and brown student-athletes, staff and alumni.

All of us at the College need to energize ourselves and our white colleagues and community members to rise up and engage in sustained, purposeful work to make a difference. The department's work will continue until every one of our students of color feels supported on our teams and on campus.

Take care and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Don Faulstick
Director of Athletics
