Social Media Rebranding, Launch of Mammoth Sports Network Announced

AMHERST, Mass. – Amherst College Athletics is unifying their social media accounts and launching a live sports network this fall, bringing everything under the new branding of "Amherst Mammoths."

The changes have already begun to take effect with the official Instagram and Twitter accounts for Amherst Athletics taking over the handle @amherstmammoths. Facebook will be following suit this week.

"Uniting all three social media accounts under one name will reinforce the Amherst Mammoths brand and make it easier for new followers to find us across all three platforms," said Director of Athletic Communications Craig Kaufman.

If you are one of the more than 5,000 fans following Amherst College athletics on social media, you will not have to change anything about how you follow your teams.

Along with the social media launch, fans of Amherst College athletics will have an easier way to watch their favorite teams live while on the go, with the introduction of the Mammoth Sports Network.

The new home of the Mammoth Sports Network, Amherstmammoths.tv, will now bring fans to the home page of Amherst College Athletics on the Northeast Sports Network (NSN), our partner in streaming since 2015.

Powered by NSN, the Mammoth Sports Network will continue to provide the same state-of-the art video coverage and play-by-play commentary that viewers have come to expect.

"I am excited to help our fans and hopefully grow our following with the unification of our brand and the creation of the Mammoth Sports Network," said Kaufman.

"Social media is a big part of how fans consume our product today, and bringing everything under the umbrella of the Amherst Mammoths is a natural next-step. With the acquisition of Amherstmammoths.tv, we are giving fans a quick and reliable way to get to our NSN homepage on game day."

The debut of the Mammoth Sports Network will be on Thursday, September 6 with a doubleheader in the Pioneer Valley. Women's soccer will host Mount Holyoke at 5:00 p.m. while field hockey plays a squad from the same institution at 7:00 p.m. in the season opener for both sides.
